Books
Some highly recommended reading once you want to go further. As I read more I will continue to add titles here that I have found interesting.
“How to change your mind” by Michael Pollan is a great place to start for those of you that are curious and want some re-assurance before embarking on a psychedelic journey. I highly recommend this well written and easy to read account of Pollan’s personal exploration of psychedelics. A dedicated and curious piece of journalism putting himself in the testing seat, he provides a great background to the natural and cultural history of psychedelics before recounting his own guided experiences, and the the growing use of psychedelics in the treatment of mental illness. If you want to read an abridged version of the book look on the media page and you will find Pollan’s piece from the New York Times which is taken from the book.
“Food of the Gods “. Terrance McKenna is considered by many to be one of the godfathers of the psychedelic movement. His knowledge and eloquence is legendary. I found this exploration of the history of human consciousness , plants, drugs and human evolution fascinating and a real page turner.
